Our Village

Nestled on the eastern coast of the main island of Unguja, Jambiani is much more than just a fishing village. It’s a place steeped in authenticity and traditions, where days start and end with the rhythm of waves and tides. The locals, primarily fishermen, have built their lives around the sea, tapping into its bounty with reverence and gratitude. This village, with its sandy lanes and palm-leaf-roofed houses, has become the heart of our association. We were deeply moved by the simplicity and harmony that prevail in Jambiani, feeling a call to support this community.

In 2021, we embarked on a project close to our hearts: the renovation of an old house within the village. This endeavor was not just about aesthetics; it had a pragmatic and essential purpose for the local fishermen. Once renovations were complete, this house was transformed into a communal storage space where fishermen can now securely store their nets, equipment, and catches. This facility, both functional and unifying, symbolizes the bond between our association and the people of Jambiani. We take pride in this accomplishment that strengthens community ties and eases the daily life of the fishermen.
